Audi Q8- New king of crossovers

The madness with crossovers has continued and this time Audi is in the main role. Germans have announced new crossover under the name Audi Q8. Now, I know that crossovers are a thing now but I don't see a point of producing so many of them. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of them but I understand why people go nuts about them. They combine all the thing people need from car. They are spacious, they have huge trunk in which you can carry a lot of baby diapers and stuff from market, you can go offroading with them (although noone hasn't ever went offroading with crossovers). But the main problem, for me atleast, is crossovers took huge part of car market. Literally every third or fourth car on the planet is crossover. We are slowly but surely losing cars with other body styles. And I don't know how to feel about that. 

Anyways, lets see what the new king of crossovers offers to us and will it reduce our mourning for cars such as Evo, Supra, Integra etc.


Q8 is basically choped version of Q7. It's slightly shorter than Q7 and its wheelbase is just 0,762 cm shorter than Q7's. Its overall lenght is 502,92 cm and it's height is 170,68 cm. These numbers basically means that it's 4,06 cm shorter and 3,30 cm lower than Q7. 

God, these numbers can be so boring. But I had to mention them so you don't get to situation in which you are talking with an owner of Audi Q7 and you can't explain them why is the Q8 new king of crossovers.


Lets talk about something much more interesting. About the POWAAAAHH under the hood. The king is powered by 3.0 l turbocharged V6 engine that develops 333 HP  and 699 Nm of torque and with another motor that is integrated within the eight-speed automatic transmission that develops 134 HP. So, that gives us total of 467 HP. Not bad. It might be the only thing that I like about this car.

Q8 launches itself 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds and it will go up to 250 km/h. The electric engine is good for 59 km of range and it will be fully charged in about two hours.

Overall, Audi made pretty damn good car but do we seriously need another crossover?

History of Honda/Acura NSX

Honda/Acura NSX, the 1990's legend, one of the best cars ever produced, the car Ayrton Senna was working in collaboration with Honda/Acura, a car that gained huge fame among gearheads all over the world, a car that makes you drool all over it when you see it, even 28 years after production.


I don't have any other words to describe this car so lets get on this article and see the amazing history of this amazing car.

The NSX is two seaters sports car with a mid-engine produced by Honda. The Acura name comes from Honda's decision to sell Honda models in the United States under Acura name. So in the U.S. the NSX was sold as Acura NSX and on the other markets it was sold as Honda NSX.

The idea behing NSX was making a car that would be rival to Ferrari models. So Honda in 1984 created HP-X prototype with 2.0 l mid-engined V6 to rival the Ferrari's V8 engine models.


HP-X had the mission to offer customers cars that are significantly cheaper and much reliable that Ferrari models and that idea led to production of NSX in 1989. The project was pioneered by engineer Shigeru Uehara and chief designer Masahito Nakano and it used adopted technologies from other aerodynamic models including the F-16 cockpit.


PRODUCTION OF NSX

In 1989 Honda gave a clues how NSX should like, first in sketches and then in sheetmetal at the Chicago auto show in February. Spec are still unknown but it is familiar that Aryton Senna was called for final tuning.

When it rolled out from factory in 1991 it became the first mass-production car with all-aluminum body kit. It was powered with 3.0 l VTEC V6 engine that developed 270 HP and it was offered with 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. 








In 1995 new edition of car arrived and it was called NSX-T. The letter "T" in its name meant that the car had removable targa-style roof panel and optional 4-speed automatic transimission.




In 2002 Honda prepared facelift of NSX. The new model came with refreshed fixed headlights and rear valances and suspension tweaks.




In 2002 Honda also introduced special edition of NSX called NSX-R- This car had updated, 3.2 l V6 engine with 276 HP and 304 Nm of torque. Suspension was tweaked for better handling and it had 6-speed manual transmission.



In 2005 another special edition was introduced, the NSX R-GT. This car was practically celebration of production of NSX and its huge glory and domination in car industry. It was based on NSX-R but it was dramatically changed. Multiple carbon fiber pieces, including dramatic front air dam and massive rear scoop that extends way beyond the roof. It used the same engine as NSX-R, the 3.2 l V6 engine. Only 5 examples were ever produced and when it was new it costed $500 000.





After this model the end of production of NSX ended. Honda announced that they won't produce NSX again and they kept their word until 2015 when they introduced newest generation of NSX.



The new NSX raised huge dust when introduced. It was in one hand revolution in car industry. It had new longitudinally mounted, dry-sump, twin-turbo, four cam. 75 degree 3.5 l V6 engine and two electric motors that powers rear and front wheels. The total power of car is 570 HP and over 500 Nm of torque. Real Ferrari hunter. It pulls from 0 to 100 km/h in only 2.6 seconds and the top speed is 305 km/h.

RS division- Ridiculously (and) Stupidly fast Audi's

Hello gearheads! A while ago we spoke about 2 out of 3 biggest tuning houses in Europe. Today we will talk about the third one, the RS division, the official tuning house of Audi. 




As I wrote in the title, acronym RS stands for, or it should stand for Ridiculously (and) Stupidly fast Audi. The only reason why you would buy Audi RS is because of its amazing looks and if you want to go stupidly fast as a gentleman. The amount of comfort in RS Audi's is pretty damn high, you get the feeling that you go 200 mph (320 km/h) on a cloud. RS division proved its dominance when they produced fastest caravan in the world, the RS6. Besides RS6 RS division took a lot of other cars from Audi gama and turned them into monsters which swallow the asphalt. This is the reason RS division became one of most famous tuning houses in the world.

Lets see how this "monster creating" departure started with work and we will go through their most famous cars they ever produced.

Headquarters of this tuning house is located in Neckarsulm in Germany. The company started with its work when they produced Audi 80 S2. RS models are more track-oriented than luxury-oriented but nevertheless you still get the feeling that you are riding on a cloud that is capable of causing "butthurt" to a lot of more expensive and exclusive cars on market. RS models are direct rivals to AMG and //M models of Mercedes Benz and BMW but not all of them weren't available on all markets all over the world. For examlpe, the RS6 (C6) model wasn't available in United States due to emissions regulations, leaving american gearheads with S6 as most powerful car from Audi. Goddamnit Americans, when are you going to realize that we are all going to die from global warming anyways and that your gearheads needs car like RS6? 


Oh well, ****it and lets get back to this article because I don't want that you become depressive because of me. There is still a lot of other amazing cars out there for you. I mean you still have cars from Mopar era, right?


In this article we will see the 15 fastest models RS division has ever produced. We won't talk about each model RS division has produced because there is so many cars out there and if I write you everything about each model, at the end of this article I will look something like this

AUDI SPORT QUATTRO



We start with ultimate legend. This car is admired by gearheads all over the world. There is couple of reasons for that. Only 200 of them were produced. It used 2.1 liter inline-five turbocharged engine that developed 306 HP and 349 Nm of torque and it was capable of doing 0-100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds. If you think those are small numbers let me tell you that car weighted 970 kilograms. Yeah. 306 HP on car that weights only 970 kilograms.



AUDI RS4 AVANT NOGARO






The 2014 RS4 Nogaro was special edition of RS4 which Audi produced in honor of RS2 Avant and its 20th anniversary. It had V8 engine that developed 450 HP, the top speed of the car is 280 km/h and it is capable of doing 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.



2017 AUDI S7





Next one on the list is one of prettiest Audi's ever made, the S7. This looker here is also one of the fastest Audi's ever made. Its 4.0 liter V8 engine develops 450 HP and 550 Nm of torque. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h and it is capable of doing 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. That's seriously quick for car that weights like planet Saturn (2041 kilograms).



2017 AUDI S6



S7's little brother (or sister, as you prefer) is pretty much same car. The S6 accelerates faster than its bigger brother (or sister) due its smaller weight. It uses the same engine as S7, 4.0 liter V8 engine that develops 450 HP and 550 Nm of torque. As I mentioned before, S6 weights less than S7, the S6 has weight as planet Earth (1950 kilograms) and it accelerates 0-100 in 4,4 seconds.



2013 RS5 CABRIOLET




Now we come to content which isn't adjusted to people under 18 years old. Audi is known as car maker that makes one of sexiest convertibles on planet and the RS5 in topless version isn't exception. I have to admit I got little bit excited when I wrote these lines in article. This porn on wheels is using 4.0 liter V8 engine that develops 450 HP and 550 Nm of torque. Top speed is electronically limited on 280 km/h.



2011 AUDI R8 SPYDER V8




Next one on the list is one of sexiest cars ever produced, the R8. The coupe version is so good looking that you can fall in love with the car and if you think coupe version is sexy, look at this topless version (cargasm appears). Joke on the side, this cars is so good looking that you don't need monster under the hood to buy it. But it comes with monster under the hood. A V8 monster that develops 430 HP and 429 Nm of torque.The top speed is 299 km/h and it accelerates 0-100 in 4,6 seconds.






2008 AUDI R8 4.2 FSI




God I love this article... Ups, did I say that on loud? Nevermind, I stay on my point. The first generation of R8 raised dust in car world because people went nuts when they saw a product from Audi's division that is responsible for making porn on wheels. I was one of those people and I remember reading a car magazine about this car and drooling all over the magazine. This car uses the same engine as its topless sister, the V8 FSI engine that develops 430 HP and 429 Nm of torque. Top speed is 302 km/h and it accelerates 0-100 in 4,2 seconds.



2012 AUDI R8 SPYDER V10




In 2012 Audi decided to install V10 engine from Lamborghini Gallardo in R8 and we can just thank them in this. Whoever came up on this idea should get Nobel prize. The result was 525 HP, acceleration 0-100 km/h in just 4 seconds and top speed of 312 km/h.



2014 AUDI RS6 AVANT




RS6 is one of my favorite cars in the world. It's pretty much everything I want from car. It looks so good, astonishing, it's amazingly practical and it is stupidly fast. Definitely a dream car. It uses 4.0 liter V8 engine that develops 560 HP and turning it to supercars nightmare and "Dear I'm going to drop kids to the school and go to grocery store to buy groceries, I will be back in 5 min." car. It has top speed of 305 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100 in 3.9 seconds. 



2107 AUDI S8 PLUS




S8 is Audi's flagship luxury sedan meant to compete BMW 7 series and Mercedes Benz S class. While BMW and Mercedes use V12 engines, Audi is using 4.0 liter V8 engine that develops 605 HP and 700 Nm of torque. To explain you how amazing this car is I'll give you the information that it beats TT RS in 0-100 at just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.



2014 AUDI RS7




In 2014 new king among all sedans was born. It still holds that title despite Audi S8. It earned was earned by its 4.0 liter V8 engine that develops 553 HP and 699 Nm of torque. But the main reason for its title was Audi's decision to throw out electronic limiter so the top speed of the car is 304 km/h and it accelerates from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds.



2017 AUDI RS7




For 2017 the king decided to refresh himself and rule the roads even more powerfully with engine that develops 560 HP and faster acceleration of 3.6 seconds. I can't wait videos of this beast tearing up the roads.



2017 AUDI TT RS




This pocket rocket is one of the fastest hot hatches in the world. It uses 2.5 liter inline five cylinder engine that develops 400 HP and 480 Nm of torque.In most raw suspension setting it will go up to 280 km/h and it will accelerate from 0 to 100 in 3.6 seconds.



2017 AUDI R8 V10




For this year Audi decided to make another porn and call it 2017 R8 V10. And I'm glad they did it. This porn got new actors in shape on new V10 engine that develops 540 HP and 539 Nm of torque. The cast is also made of top speed of 320 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 in just 3.5 seconds. 



2016 AUDI R8 V10 PLUS




If you didn't figured it by now, the R8 was and will be always supercar and when supercars are in question, heroes among them are measured in tenths of seconds. This hero right here is one of the greatest heroes of modern world. It is the fastest road-legal Audi ever produced. It has V10 engine that develops 610 HP and 560 Nm of torque. It will go up to 330 km/h and it will do 0-100 in 2.7 seconds.
